Ways to study for FCAT!

1.) Here is a link of several sample questions to practice for FCAT – many of the questions have been in our do now’s and from your FCAT workbook!

2.) Go back and look at the do now pages for all classes they are all there from the start of the school year – go back and review!

3.) FCAT Explorer & First In Math (the hard concepts…) glencoe.com & prentice hall website!

4.) Your FCAT workbook – we have completed strands A,C,D so you should be able to complete these problems from these sections so go back and try them again!

5.) Your textbook, yes really… check out the very beginning of your text pgs FL4 – FL24 all the Countdown to FCAT problems… do them and then ask me for the answers to check!

6.) Click on the links from the site like the after school site/math journals/powerpoints from 2nd/3rd/6th period…

7.) FCAT Released test practice click on the link below to practice fcat test!

8.) Get tutoring (mr. galante’s tutoring monday/escobar wednesday) I am also available after school any other day just set up a time for me!

9.) Check virtual counselor – look at your bat data results & last years fcat results practice on your weakest areas use the index in your textbook / research the concepts on line/ ask me for help

HOLIDAY PACKET :) DON’T FORGET – HERE IT IS!!

Hope all of you are having great fun holidays and miss math soo very much!  Just remember complete that fun, exciting holiday packet that I gave you on the last day – if you didn’t get it click on the pictures attached and start!  It is due by Friday, January 8th and if you have it the first day back from winter break I’m adding an extra 10 points to it!  It is required not “requested” so yes you must complete it!!!  Have fun and ask if you need help.. by the way I will be at the Deerfield Beach Library Thursday, December 31st from 3pm – 6pm (by school on hillsboro) if you want to stop by for some extra help!!!  Miss you all!!

Practice using your textbook – remember all odd # problems have the answers in the back of the book to check your work!

Use your FCAT workbook – go over the problems we have completed & try to get the right answer again!

Chapter 1 & chapter 10 powerpoints are on here from 2nd,3rd, and 6th period page to go over and practice too!

Go online… practice from the glencoe website/prentice hall websites

Review vocabulary – look at all the vocabulary websites i’ve posted for you on this site

Look over your journal entries that we have completed.

Florida Panthers Field Trips!!

Here are some of the pictures from our field trip to the panthers games!

Next game will be January 18th we will be in the club level in a box suite and it will be free! So I will only be taking my A/B students who are my best behaved kids – make sure you are one of them – you have time to get your grades up by then for 2nd quarter! It will be a blast!

Congrats for the hard work 1st quarter – well done especially to my A/B students…

Next quarter for those of you who slipped a bit remember it’s a new start on Monday… You are ALL capable of being an A/B student – put your mind & effort to it and you can do it!  Remember I am always here after school if you need HELP – Tutoring (NOT MAKE UP WORK – remember NO LATE work – unless absent & even then you MUST adhere to the make up work policy!)

Don’t wait til it’s too late to do something about your grades… as soon as you need help find a way to get it or it will be too late and then there is nothing I can do past that point to help you increase your math grades on your report card once the quarter is close to coming to an end.

Just think you’ve completed 1/4 of the school & pushing towards your goal of graduating on to high school   Keep up the hard work, positive attitude, and see you all on Monday!  Enjoy your long weekend
